A History of Shannon Heights

The early days of Shannon Heights

Construction began on our neighborhood in the early 1980s. The land was once cornfields, farmland, and barns. To the left of the trees is what would become The Mall at Tuttle Crossing. Tuttle Road is to the north in this photo, and Frantz Road to the east.

What is the Shannon Heights Civic Association?

  • We’re a group of volunteers, neighbors just like you, who are elected each year for 1-year terms
  • We come together monthly (sometimes virtually, sometimes in person), with the goal to enhance our community and the quality of life within our boundaries
  • We are designed to welcome and benefit ALL residents – whether you own or rent a home in Shannon Heights.
  • Our goals are:  1. To build community and respect for neighbors, 2. To Increase the feeling of safety and security, 3. To share pertinent information with our residents as necessary, 4. To give neighbors a voice and a forum to collaborate on issues and concerns that can make the neighborhood a better place for all of us, 5. To provide social activities to bring neighbors together in a positive and fun way.
  • We also manage this website and our social media platforms, and publish a 2x/year print newsletter
